Video previewThe hostage-taking of Gladbeck. In August 1988, two criminals robbed a bank in the Northrhine-westphalian city of Gladbeck. After taking hostages they fled by car across Germany and The Netherlands killing two hostages until they were arrested by the police. During their flight the hostage-takers seeked media presence and were interviewed by journalists several times. In the aftermath of this crime, the journalists were criticised severely due to irresponsible coverage and obstruction of police work.
